Book Awards 2011

The 2011 winners of the Great Stone Face and Isinglass book awards were announced at the New Hampshire Library Association’s annual spring conference on May 5th and 6th.  These awards are sponsored by CHILIS, and are chosen by youth from across the state.  The Great Stone Face Book Award winner, chosen by kids in grades 4 to 6, is Murder at Midnight by Avi.  The winner of the Isinglass Teen Read Award, chosen by teens in grades 7 and 8, is The Maze Runner by James Dashner.  Visit the Great Stone Face and Isinglass websites for information about the 2011-2012 nominees.

We Have Winners!

The 2010 winners of the Great Stone Face and Isinglass book awards were announced at the New Hampshire Library Association’s annual spring conference on May 13th and 14th.  These awards are sponsored by CHILIS, and are chosen by youth from across the state.  The Great Stone Face Book Award winner, chosen by kids in grades 4 to 6, is Swindle by Gordon Korman.  The winner of the Isinglass Teen Read Award, chosen by teens in grades 7 and 8, is The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins.

Isinglass Teen Read Award

The Winner of the Isinglass Teen Read Award for 7th & 8th Graders is Twilight by Stephenie Meyer with 277 votes!  There were 1561 votes cast this year from 28 communities.  Very impressive.  Look for the list of 2008 nominations to be announced at a presentation at the NHLA Conference on May 17th.
