As information available via the Internet expands dramatically, libraries are becoming curators of online information resources. In celebration of open access to information, but cognizant of the very real need to evaluate and curate that information for our patrons…
SNHU Shapiro Library is holding an Open Educational Resources (OER) event
“Into the Great Wide Open”
Wed. March 6th
Shapiro Library on the Hooksett/Manchester campus or via Livestream
All are welcome to attend in person, or tune in to the livestream at https://youtu.be/g923Lncf5Mw . Folks watching the livestream may chat in questions that will then be asked of the speakers. The full description of the event including speaker bios is here: http://libguides.snhu.edu/oer/programming. For those attending in person, the speaker session will be followed by a reception.
Additionally, librarians: Deb Baker @ Manchester Community College, Becky Clerkin @ Great Bay Community College, and Eleta Exline @ UNH-Durham, have started a Google group:
NH OER Collaboration Space
and would like to invite other librarians and teachers/faculty who have expressed an interest in, or are using OERs in their courses, to join as well – they’re hoping it will be a place where colleagues can meet and exchange ideas, answer questions for each other, and avoid re-inventing the wheel.
Please share! :)
