Not a bad photo of 3/4ths of the NH contingent at today’s ALA Library Advocacy Rally: Irene Herold (Dean of Libraries at Keene State), Mike York (State Librarian) and Judy Haskell (NHLA President). I took the photo. Following the rally, Mike and Judy went to Capitol Hill to meet with our Senators and Representatives and ask for lots of financial support. Thanks Mike and Judy for your hard work!

NH Librarians Join ALA Library Advocacy Rally in DC
8th edition of Intellectual Freedom Manual makes its debut
The newly revised and updated 8th edition of the Intellectual Freedom Manual made its debut yesterday at the ALA Store at the 2010 ALA Annual Conference in Washington, D.C. The Manual also is available online at www.alastore.ala.org (search for Intellectual Freedom Manual).
And due to popular demand… a revamped and revised website to supplement and update the print edition of the Intellectual Freedom Manual also debuts during Annual. Online at www.ifmanual.org, the new site provides access to new policies and policy revisions as well as expanded online resources for academic and school librarians.

Website changes
Unless this is your first visit, you’ve probably noticed that we’ve made a few changes to the CHILIS website. The site navigation is now more consistent, making it (presumably) easier to find what you’re looking for. We are also putting news updates on the front page now, instead of the separate newsletter page. You can subscribe to these updates via email or RSS. Take a look around; if you have questions, or thoughts about how we can improve the site further, let us know.
Summer Reading Notecards
The CHILIS Board has printed boxes of notecards featuring four of the many images from past Summer Reading Program posters. We are selling the packets of 12 note cards (3 of each design) for $10. The cards made their debut at the Spring Conference, but if you missed that chance, or just would like some more of these lovely cards, use this form.
This fundraiser replaces the sale of NH Summer Reading t-shirts, which previously funded the NH Summer Reading Program. Since CHILIS underwrites the costs of NH’s participation in the Cooperative Summer Library Program, we need to continue to raise money to support this program.
Enjoy the note cards. They make great gifts, and you don’t have to worry about choosing the right size!
