Educational opportunity for NHLA members

Members of the NHLA  are cordially invited to a one-day conference “Music Librarianship: Just the Basics” to be held at the Hyatt Regency Newport (1 Goat Island in Newport, RI) on Feb. 20, 2008 from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.  A glossy brochure can also be requested from me directly (see address below).

The Education Committee of the Music Library Association and the Music OCLC Users GROUP are very excited to have the “gurus” in our profession teaching the conference sessions including Jay Weitz (Music sound recordings cataloging and video cataloging); Jeanette Casey (Music Reference); Marci Cohen (Music Collection Development/Acquisitions); and Joseph Hafner (Client Services). Please see complete bio information in the brochure. Cost for the conference is $90 and the registration deadline is January 31, 2008.

I hope you will consider attending this workshop if you have an interest in music librarianship or have recently taken on new responsibilities in the area of music as part of your position. Library School students are also welcome.

Questions can be directed to me, Holling Smith-Borne at holling.j.smith-borne@vanderbilt.edu <mailto:holling.j.smith-borne@vanderbilt.edu>.

Hi all,
I have the brochure as an attachment and I can't figure out how to add it to this blog post. Email me if you are interested (or if you can tell me how to add it), and I will send it to you.
