Do you attend ALA, and if so, who pays for it?

I'd be interested in knowing how many NHLA members attend the ALA annual meeting or Midwinter meeting. How often do you go, and does your employer pay some or all of your way? Also, do you participate on any ALA committees? If so, do you think that committee work could be done online? Please leave a comment and be sure to include what kind of library you work for. Thanks!

PLA once, ALA never. Going would take most of my "education budget, and I have many people who want/need a piece of it. It seems to me that often Friends support staff going to the ALA conference.
