NELA games - 3 golfers and legion of fans needed

I am searching among the New Hampshire delegation attending NELA for three talented volunteers to demonstrate their miniature golfing prowess at the annual NELA games on Monday, October 15th from 5:30 to 6:30 at the Sturbridge Host Hotel course. Not only will you have the opportunity to win the coveted SNAIL and establish your reputation statewide as distinguished athletes, but you can also sport creative attire to distinguish yourselves even further...(NOTE: if you would prefer to be an admiring spectator at the games, your support will be crucial to our players' success.)  Please  e-mail  or call  the Hampton Falls Free Library to let me know of your interest/availability and I will report the results.

IMLS Connecting to Collections Bookshelf

The IMLS Connecting to Collections Bookshelf is part of a multi-year, multi-faceted IMLS national initiative to raise public awareness and inspire action to care for the collections held in public trust by libraries and museums throughout the United States. The initiative is grounded in the results of A Public Trust at Risk: The Heritage Health Index Report on the State of America's Collections, which reports that a stunning 190 million objects in U.S. collections need conservation treatment.

The IMLS Connecting to Collections Bookshelf is intended to provide small and medium-sized libraries and museums with essential resources needed to improve the condition of their collections. The Bookshelf includes books and DVDs, as well as a guide to online resources and an annotated bibliography of all the materials. It addresses such topics as the philosophy and ethics of collecting, collections management and planning, emergency preparedness, and culturally specific conservation issues. Such texts as The National Trust Manual of Housekeeping (published by the British National Trust in 2005), the Field Guide to Emergency Response (published by Heritage Preservation in 2006), and Essentials of Conservation Biology (published by Primack in 2006) are among the recent publications included in the Bookshelf.

There are two application periods:

  1. September 1 through November 15, 2007
  2. March 1 through April 15, 2008
Applications must be submitted on line and are available at: http://www.aaslh.org/Bookshelf.

For more information, visit http://www.aaslh.org/Bookshelf/.
